Week 22: Summer check-in
This week, Tyler check's in with everyone regarding where they currently are and the progress they have made.
Happy Wednesday everyone! Thanks for tuning into another episode of Tyler Talks.
With summer officially here, it’s a good time to reflect on where we are mentally, physically, and emotionally. Over the past 21 weeks, I have written on several different concepts, each primarily focused to enhance personal wellness and striving for excellence. You have hopefully learned or been reminded of various concepts that have promoted optimal performance in life, such as creating a value system, creating a positive support system, building a life that you can be proud of, understanding the realities and definitions of success, how to embrace and learn from failure, and learning to manage stress and one’s time. When there is an influx of information each week, it can be difficult to remember everything. The purpose of this week’s article is to assist you with this. Today, you will reflect on what you’ve learned and how it has possibly changed your outlook and perspective on life.
To do so, I’m going to pose a series of questions. I want you to reflect on your answers. Each question is related to one of my previous articles:
What are your three core values?
If the opportunity of a lifetime were to arise tomorrow, would you possess the skills to seize it? If not, what could you be doing differently?
Are the decisions you are making today contributing to who you want to be and who you want to become?
Do the individuals within your support system promote personal growth and striving for excellence?
How do you define stress? Do you see it as something positive or something to actively avoid?
How do you define success? Are you prepared for how long it might take to achieve it?
How often do you focus on elements in your life that are outside your control?
What small, consistent improvements could you make each day that would allow you to reach your goals?
What are some different ways for you to manage your time?
What are your views on failure?
Do you adopt a growth or fixed mindset?
Some of these are big questions that you might not have an answer to at the moment. In such cases, take some time to reflect over the next couple days. If you haven’t implemented each of the concepts, that’s okay! This is the reason why I wanted to check-in with everyone this week. Reflect on where you were, where you currently are, and where you want to go. Be proud of the progress you have and will continue to make.
Thank you for reading.
Until next week,
Tyler
